American Airlines & Onward — Mr Nicholas Bredimus
Raised from birth in New Jersey, Nicholas Bredimus brought airlines, software, and hospitality together and energized these areas of business. His career highlights include time-saving computer programs, air safety advancements, and even the design of luxury houses. He brings true passion to all these fields, too. You could have predicted, mind you, that given his pedigree he was always likely to rise to the top. Drawing elements together from many nationalities, his kindred traces to the time of ancient Rome, with his mother’s side rooted in Scotland and Germany. An equivalently broad mingling dominates the paternal branch; prior to their emigration in the late nineteenth century, Bredimus’ forebears dwelt in England and Luxembourg. Naturally, following arrival in America, the family upheld its drive and resolve to go up in the world. Born one of seven siblings, Nicholas was born to a father working as a mechanical design engineer, and a mother who worked as a practicing nurse. He would spend much of his life in homes across several states. what did Nicholas Bredimus do with his heritage and education? A series of prominent jobs were soon his, all as part of popular airlines. Nicholas Bredimus became a VP with businesses like Trans World Airlines (TWA), Republic Airlines, and Hughes Airwest. A dedicated software designer, Bredimus’ innovations in airline computer programs are arguably his greatest legacy. He is best known for a project for US Airways, namely his aircraft maintenance applications which you will now find being used by the majority of airlines. He programmed many other systems for the hotel and airline industries in addition, among them robotic software for handling flight bookings, employed now at fifty or more firms, to say nothing of the original client based room booking program for the hotel sector, which was first rolled out at over 700 venues. Next came QuikTix, an online, networked approach to selling tickets that stands as a first.
Although it was certainly his forte, he often worked on other areas. In his own business — Bredimus Systems — overseeing IT for American Express, and as the inaugural president of a new American Airlines division his career is certainly remarkable.
And is he still working? Definitely– his intelligence is still highly called upon and at the ready despite his leaving prior interests in the past. He’s at work now advancing architecture — balancing the requirements of luxury with true ecological concern.
